JST NEXUS Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program (Y-tec) 2024

The JST NEXUS Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program (Y-tec) is part of the Networked Exchange, United Strength for Stronger Partnerships between Japan and ASEAN (NEXUS) initiative. This program invites talented young researchers from ASEAN countries to Japan for short-term visits, providing them with opportunities to experience Japan’s cutting-edge science and technology. Through these exchanges, the program aims to foster collaboration, mutual understanding, and long-term relationships among young researchers in Japan and ASEAN. The program contributes to the promotion of international talent circulation and supports the development of the next generation of outstanding researchers.

This year, the Human-AI Interaction (HAI) Research Laboratory at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) is participating in the program. We invite ten students from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Indonesia, University of Indonesia (UI), Indonesia, University of Computer Studies, Yangon (Myanmar), and VNU Ho Chi Minh City – University of Information Technology (Vietnam).

Through this exchange program, students and early-career researchers from Japan and ASEAN countries engaged in research on multimodal human–AI interaction toward Society 5.0, and were fostered as research professionals with an international perspective.
